Être Paysan·ne
Release date : 29 Apr 2026
When, in early 2024, thousands of overturned road signs, hundreds of tractors with flashing lights, and warning lights suddenly disturbed the reassuring calm of our countryside, television news programs and articles attempted to grasp what was happening. The symptoms were documented and discussed, but the causes remained obscure. And then calm returned. As always. Yet nothing changes, and the economic situation of the primary sector continues to deteriorate amid polite indifference. "Being a Farmer" takes us to meet those who fight every day despite collapsing prices and increasingly problematic working conditions. From large mechanized farms to micro-farms, from the plateau to the mid-mountain regions, this is an illuminating immersion into the lived experience of an agricultural world embodied by those who, despite all the obstacles, remain attached to their land.
