The knight Falstaff sends two identical love bills to Alice Ford and Meg Page. As soon as they realize it, the two friends decide to make him pay for his rudeness. And when Mr. Ford thinks he has caught Falstaff with his wife, it is his daughter Nanetta that he surprises in the arms of young Fenton, while he has promised her hand to Doctor Caius.
